PDT with
Levulan (aminolevuline acid) is a ground-breaking treatment to remove
sundamaged and precancerous spots known as actinic kearotosis. A topical
medication, Levulan is applied to the area to be treated. Then the area is
placed under a specialized blue light for several minutes. There is miminal or
no pain and no downtime. Patients may experience redness after treatment and
should expect peeling for several days after a treatment. For best results, most patients receive
three (3) monthly treatments.
Advantages of this exceptional treatment include:
Removing precancerous actinic keratosis,
Helping to prevent skin cancer,
Improving wrinkles, reducing pore size and
Improving overall skin texture and
pigmentation.
Improving moderate to severe cystic acne

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) for Acne Treatment
PDT is an innovative
treatment for hard to treat moderate to severe cystic acne. This specialized
blue light treatment targets the bacteria that causes acne and exfoliates the
skin to unclog the pores. It also reduces the subaceauous glands that cause
acne. Pretreatment with ALA Levulan (aminolevuline acid) may help with
additional reduction of lesions, pustules and papules associated with acne. For
best results, patients receive three (3) monthly treatments. There is minimal
discomfort during treatment and no downtime. Your face may be red for 24 hours
and peeling is common for 2-4 days after.
